LaGrange College
LaGrange College, founded in 1831, is the oldest private college in Georgia. Originally established as a women’s academy by the Methodist Church in the town of LaGrange, the institution evolved over time to become coeducational in 1953 and eventually expanded its academic offerings to include a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs. Throughout its history, the college has maintained a strong liberal arts foundation while embracing innovation and growth. Today, LaGrange College continues to be guided by its Methodist heritage, emphasizing values such as service, leadership, and academic excellence in a close-knit, supportive community.
